The Secret Life of a Greek Boy - Chapter One

He was born to Poseidon and Adrastos, a mortal woman who could see the difference between gods and mortals. Even though Poseidon had courted her, she was not a greedy woman and didn't ask for much. She worked as a gardener for the King of Ithicus. It was a hidden kingdom in those days. It's the missing spots in mythology that contain the most beautiful stories. Her hair was luscious as the green grass fields, and she was as beautiful as the king's daughters themselves. She was sang to the birds as she worked, and flowers were known to brighten and open up when she walked. One day, she became pregnant with a baby. Knowing that this was not a normal child from the day she felt a kick, she protected the baby with all her heart. When he was born, he was born with very light brown hair and blue eyes, as deep as the ocean itself. Everyday she took him to the edge of the water.

On his 7th birthday, as she knew seven was a special number, even back then, she took him once again to the water. This time, Poseidon had surfaced. He didn't show himself to his baby and his mother, but he watched with delight as the baby jumped He ached to rush up out of the water, but he knew it was dangerous. He stood at the edge, still hidden, when Poseidon sensed something wrong. Very, very wrong. He jumped forward, shielding the baby with himself, but he didn't get to protect Adrastos. With a great thunder clap, Adrastos was gone, her soul already being guided to the Underworld by Hermes.

"Zeus! What do you want from me?! This is a declaration of war!" Poseidon yelled in rage into the sky. Already, storms were forming, the waves crashing, and the earth shaking, responding to Poseidon's anger. He focused all the hatred he felt for his brother, and far away, the ground shook wildly, toppling Zeus' temple and sending it crashing down.. Far off into the ocean, Hercules fell off a boat. He managed to live, however. Poseidon's anger destroyed cities, flooded others. As he literally stormed into the ocean, the water parted to make way.

He arrived in his underwater city, Atlantis, soon enough. It was a beautiful city, containing his enormous palace. The guards scrambled to open the doors and bow as he stormed into the Throne Room, ignoring them. After a while, he collects himself and ask for Demeter to come. After a few hours, Demeter comes into the Throne Room.

"Sit, sit. Demeter, as you know, Zeus, my brother, has killed my Adrastos. I know I cannot disobey the Ancient Laws, but I know you can give a better life to my son. He is already 3/4ths god to begin with, but I need you to finish it and make him a god. I know you've almost done it before. Please. An apple of immortality, or your process of making a mortal immortal will do." Demeter, who was feeling sorry, finally agreed.

"Very well, brother. I shall grant you an immortality apple for the hero Perseus. You understand, however, since he was a mortal to begin with, and I am not doing my Immortality process with him, he will age like a regular mortal being. He will be able to control between the ages he has been before. Farewell, and good luck, brother." And with a swirl of grain, she left behind a single glowing apple and disappeared.

SPHERE STORIES

Welcome to SPHERE STORIES, where I will be posting chapter by chapter of my stories that I write. Maybe eventually, if one of my stories are like really popular, I may publish it on Kindle. Free, of course. Some of these stories may have to do with books you might have read, like the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, or the I AM NUMBER FOUR series, which will be my fanfiction. I don't like neither Fanfiction or Wattpad, so I decided to write here, having my own blog!

I think I should tell a bit about myself. I also write for the blog The Demigod Guide - Learn to Survive and am starting another blog called the Stone Reader. My name is Hoon Kim, and I am on Google Plus, Instagram, and Twitter, but you'll only be able to contact me through Google Plus. I liek writing, as you can see.

The first two stories I am planning currently are based on the Roman/Greek mythology genre. Yes, it is in our time. The first story will be called The American Civil War II, which is a bit in the future. The second (planned, I don't know if I will go through with this) one is about the American Revolution, a story where Roman and Greek demigods alike will unite to fight Britain from gaining back Olympus. And yes, that is the time where Olympus moved from Great Britain/Europe to America. Like I said, I'll have to do a ton of research to fit it in with actual history, so maybe if I'm not that busy, I could fit a bit of it here and there. And one rule on this blog: I will NEVER EVER do two stories at a time. I won't move on until it's finished. Sometimes, if I just can't think of anything more for the story, you'll notice: the messy handwriting (not really), and the hastily made conclusion.

Thanks for reading! Until next time,
Hoon Kim

EDIT: My first story will actually not be The American Civil War II. Sorry about that. It'll actually be The Secret Life of a Greek Boy, still based on Greek mythology.
